Lili of the Valley 49

I love this sketch challenging us this fortnight at Lili of the Valley. I am really pleased with my result too, you know sometimes when you just sorta like what you've done but you're not too impressed and then sometimes you think wow did I make that!! LOL My LOTV fairy is from the diecuts; I have cut out part of her wings, feet and tiara to stick out over the purple circle window. The lavender ribbon is threaded behind her wings and her skirt via two slits. I made the large flowers from seven scallop circles, popping a brad through the middle, spraying with water and then scrunching up each scallop layer individually into a tight ball, whilst drying I teased open the layers until I was happy with the result, I then smeared with matching colour Stickles. The smaller ones are made in the same fashion with a a rounded five petal flower. Really love these and big thanks to Amy White who told me how she made them!!

INGREDIENTS

Stamps: SU greeting
Cardstock: SU Lovely Lilac, SU Whisper White and SU Certainly Celery, deep purple card
Ink: SU Lovely Lilac
Misc: LOTV Diecut Fairy, Papermania green brads, Stickles, Dovecraft lavender ribbon
Tools: SU Word Window punch, SU Papersnips, Tombow, SU Dimensionals, SU Glue Dots, H2O

Just Magnolia #48

This was the sketch given to us at Just Magnolia this week. I really wanted to stick with a Spring theme of blossoms and use Magnolia Tilda's swing, which I haven't had a chance to use yet. The blossom tree is also by Magnolia. There are alot of details on this card which you can only see clearly by clicking on the image and looking at the enlarged version! I have made a tiny little tag using the greeting from SU Vintage Labels and hung it in the branch with linen thread. I have added tiny saffron beads to the tree blossoms. The pink Magnolia flowers from also have tiny brown beads in the centre. The larger flowers are by Prima and have co-ordinating brads in the centre.

Curtain Call - Act 23

For this colour combo at Curtain Call, I decided to go with pink and white daisies as my theme. The Kraft cardstock is stamped with black and pretty in Pink daisies from the Garden Dream Hostess set; I have also ripped it, sewn a zig zag around three edges and threaded a pale pink ribbon through it! The black and white daisy paper from DCWV was my starting point, which then led me to this gorgeous Penny Black hedgehog (a bit of a feature on my cards recently!!)

INGREDIENTS

Stamps: SU Garden Dream Hostess set, SU Vintage Labels, Penny Black Wonderful Day Transparent collection
Cardstock: SU Kraft, SU Whisper White, SU Pretty in Pink and a shimmery balck

Just Add Ink, Scraps and Mojo!!

My card today is for 3 challenges - the sketch at Mojo Monday a DL size for a change, the gorgeous colour combo over at Just Add Ink and the theme of New Beginnings in pastels at Just Scraps. As soon as I saw the sketch for Mojo Monday I knew instantly which stamps I wanted to use - these three hedgehogs just fit in a line perfectly and used the colour combo well. The flowers, butterfly and baby hedgehog in the middle represented new life to me. Also hedgehogs come out of hibernation in the spring!

Stamps: Penny Black Hedgehogs from Wonderful Day Transparent collection, sentiment from SU
Cardstock: SU Close to Cocoa, Kraft, Cameo Coral and Blush Blossom
DSP: Cameo Coral and Blush Blossom from SU Scrappin Kit

Stitched Spring Penny Black Mice in Paradise!!

Ok... as you may have guessed by my title I am entering this card into 4 challenges! The lovely colour combo at Scrapmaster's Paradise, the Spring theme at Sweet Stampin, the sketch above at Penny Black and the Spring theme with stitches at the Shabby Tea Room. This is only the second challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room and the first entry for me. I really wanted to enter the first one which was a gorgeous colour combo of red, cream and pinks with a picture of a tearoom/cafe for inspiration. I had lots of ideas but no energy to tackle it. Blasted ME!! It so gets in the way at times. The pretty in Pink in the colour combo reminded me of soft spring blossoms, so my card had to have some flowers. I love this cute Mouse stamp and it fitted perfectly with the theme and the colours ('cos on other colour schemes you really can't have blue or green mice!!!!!) I have stitched around the Chocolate Chip background layer with pale pink thread and around the circle image (that was a challenge in itself!!) in brown thread. The scallop circle also has punched holes around the edge although you can't see them too clearly in this size photo!

Stamps: Penny Black Mice from Hugs Transparent collection, Penny Black greeting from Wonderful Day Transparent collection

The Easter stickers I got for £1 at Asda!! I stuck them on card and cut them out and added dimensionals to make them pop! The gorgeous pink organza ribbon I recycled from my mother's day present!

Sweet Stampin 17 Colour Challenge

The challenge this week at Sweet Stampin was a colour combo, very soft delicate colours so I thought I'd use them to make a Wedding Acceptance card that I've been meaning to make for a while. I didn't have any Blush Blossom designer paper so I brayered Blush Blossom ink onto the gorgeous Bride foiled speciality paper.

I stamped the birds out 3 times onto different colour cardstock and then cut out their bodies! Inspiration for this was taken from my local Stampin Up demonstrator Amy White.

INGREDIENTS

Stamps: SU Love you much, alphabet circles

Stamp with Us and Curtain Call Act 21

The Challenge at Stamp with Us this week was to make a Male Card, I combined this with the colour combo at Stacey's Stamping Stage - Curtain Call Act 21. I bought this simple frog stamp specifically to make male cards and have been itching to use it. I punched a hole with the Stampin Up Word Window punch in the Always Artichoke background mat and then stamped the greeting on Certainly Celery with Always Artichoke ink and
then used the same punch again. I then glued the greeting in the punched hole.

I didn't have any of the above American colours, so I replaced them with Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Garden Green and Summer Sun.

Just Magnolia 45 Tent Card

This week over at Just Magnolia we were challenged to create a Tent card as demonstrated by Dena. I thoroughly enjoyed making this card and used this gorgeous SU background paper as a base for my colour scheme. I didn't have the new hanging Tilda so I used my imagination and used this Christmas Tilda hanging baubles, but I cut off the bauble from her hand and covered the baubles in the basket with paper rose buds!! I think it worked quite well, even if I do say so myself! LOL This card was crying out for the luscious 1 1/4" striped Grosgrain ribbon by Stampin Up.
This is a close up of the inner fold where I stamped the greeting which reads "hope your day is happy as happy gets", which you'll probably notice is not in the main photo because I forgot what I was doing, (a regular occurrence I'm afraid) and got snap happy with the camera before adding the greeting!!

INGREDIENTS (This is gonna be a long list, 'cos I dipped into everything!!)

Unusual Rovers Wedding Card!

I've been a busy bee today! First I had to tidy and clean up the house downstairs, since the police were coming to visit at 5.30pm re my stolen number plates. By 11.30am I was pooped and had to go back to bed for a sleep. Back up again at 2.30pm to do the school run, and woke up with a very painful coccyx and sciatica (unfortunately a recurring problem). Undeterred, I finished off this very specific wedding card for my mother-in-law to give some friends of ours. The bride is a police woman and the groom is an avid Rovers supporter hence the blue!! I then completed my own wedding card for them and met a challenge and completed another challenge, (posting after this one!!) not bad for half a day's work hey!!

Mojo Monday 128

I really enjoyed doing this Mojo Monday challenge, I knew instantly what I wanted to do as the circle image - this clock from Stampin Up "Sense of Time". Stamp With Us

Penny Black Saturday with Curtain Call Act 19

I didn't have Rich Razzleberry here in the UK so I used Rose Red and replaced Pink Pirouette with Pretty in Pink for this challenge at Stacey's Stamping Stage Curtain Call. The sketch below was given to us by Carole over at Penny Black Saturday.
My Rose Red DSP and Pretty in Pink DSP from "Tea and Crumpets" both had white on, so I coloured them in with Very Vanilla Watercolour Wonder crayon. I then went to town distressing the Rose Red by spraying with water then scrunching it into a ball then flattened it out again and stamped with the Bashful Blue inkpad, I then ripped down the sides and inked the edges with Rose Red!

INGREDIENTS

Stamps: Penny Black, SU Trendy Trees greeting
Cardstock: SU Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla
DSP: SU Rose Red and SU Tea and Crumpets
Ink: SU Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla
Misc: Vanilla flower brads, blue gems, Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon
Tools: SU Papersnips, Tombow, SU Dimensionals, SU Glue Dots

Bright Birthday

Hi, this is the sketch given at Sweet Stampin. I designed this card for it and it was also supposed to be for the "Birthdays" theme Challenge over at Just Magnolia. However, I missed the deadline of 8pm because some of my precious crafting time was spent on the phone to the police because some kind soul decided to steal both my number plates whilst I was having lunch with my mum in a quiet country pub!! After two phonecalls with the police I then had to go to my local car part store and buy two more number plates and then help my husband put them on! (Well, actually I stood and fetched and watched but my heart was in the right place!!) So consequently, I have only just finished it!
I decided that this card needed bright colours, and chose Pumpkin Pie, Lavender Lace, Rose Red and Whisper White. I then thought about what represents birthdays the most; I figured presents, balloons and of course cake were all a must!
This is an overhead view to show how I've folded back the front of the card.
And...... this is the card flat showing the decorated inside too! Incidentally, despite being a competent seamstress and having previously owned my own sewing businesses...... this is the first card I have stitched!!!

Forgot to mention - I didn't have any papers in Lavender Lace so I made my own using Lavender Lace cardstock and white Kraft ink and the bubble stamp from Circle Circus.

INGREDIENTS

Stamps: Just Magnolia Tilda unwrapping present, Stampin Up (SU) Sale-a-bration stamps "Happy Moments", random balloon and present
Cardstock: SU Pumpkin Pie, Lavender Lace, Rose Red and my own white
DSP: SU Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red

Misc: SU Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Stickles
Tools: SU 1/2" circle punch, SU Papersnips, Tombow, SU Dimensionals
