Card Class Mojo 134

I challenged our little card group to do last week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This was my take...

Just Scraps -Use your magazines....

The challenge at Just Scraps this fortnight was to use those craft magazines that you buy and don't actually use!! Not only am I guilty of not always using any designs from them; I also don't often use the free gift. So I thought here we go - I chose Papercraft Inspirations using the issue when they gave away cottage garden die cuts. However, once I'd finished my card I realised why I hadn't used them!! LOL

Rapunzel, Rapunzel Let down your hair!

The challenge at the Shabby Tea Room this week was this sketch. Desperate to use more of my Magnolia Fairytale stamps; I chose this Tilda and put her in a castle window and thus in my mind "Rapunzel". I am entering this card for the Just Magnolia challenge "Anything goes" and the "Just add Vintage" challenge at Just Add Ink. I hand stamped the background with flowers in Ruby Red then stamped over them with a vintage cracked stamp in So Saffron and then in Basic Grey. I distressed the edges of everything straight!! I made this flower out of wired ribbon bought at the "Stitch and Creative Craft Show" at Shepton Mallett yesterday, where I also bought this fabulous ruby wire ribbon which makes gorgeous bows and this fab vintage look cream organza ribbon adorned with leaves.

On the inside I found the story of Rapunzel and summarised it on my computer and chose an old-fashioned font. I stamped the paper with So Saffron flowers and sponged the edges.

On the back I made a space for an inscription to be written.

I started this card for the Curtain Call but didn't finish it for the deadline but I thought well I've started so I'll finish. I rather like the tangy colours. Just Magnolia Strawberries

I have fulfilled a dream this week - I bought a paper making kit, something I've been meaning to do since I first made paper at primary school!! I made this Kraft coloured one out of a "McDonalds' paper bag". I then went through all my scrap card including my bins LOL and sorted the bits out according to colour. Using pinks and reds I made this gorgeous rose red colour paper. I love the bumpiness and the fact that some of the darker red bits show up. I then made a blue paper with silver foil bits in and finally used white card scraps and added some petals from my red Camellia flowers. I used some of the kraft colour on this Magnolia card.

The challenge at Just Magnolia this week was to make a card with at least two folds. Now I was going to be really over the top and make a never-ending card but they take sooooo long to decorate. So I went for this joy fold card instead, and went for a strawberry theme.

INGREDIENTS

Stamps: Magnolia Chef Tilda , Magnolia Lace Jar, Magnolia Rolling Pin, Magnolia Vintage Dinner Plate, Magnolia greeting
Cardstock: SU Real Red, SU Kraft, SU Whisper White and my own handmade!!
DSP: Magnolia strawberries
